Comparing the impact of the New Personal Injury Guidelines in Ireland Over Three Years

Ireland has seen a systemic shift in pay-outs associated with personal injury claims over the last few years. This shift is a direct result of the PIAB moving away from the Book of Quantum – the former personal injury pay-outs guidelines – to a new set of rules.

While the judicial Court accepted these new guidelines in April 2020, 2021 was the first 12-month period where these guidelines were in force.

Therefore we have compared personal injury pay-outs from 2021 to pay-outs from 2019 – the last 12-month period where the book of quantum was in force. We’ve compiled this data into the below easy-to-understand infographic.
